George Evan Music Jr.

George Evan Music, Jr. (lovingly known as Sid) passed from this earth and into the arms of the Lord March 5, 2022 at Ascension St Thomas Rutherford Hospital. He was born in Wheeling, WV to George Evan Music, Sr. and Florence Johnston Music who both predeceased him. He lived in West Virginia, Florida and North Carolina before moving to Murfreesboro, TN in 2000. George served in the U.S. Air Force providing support to remote radar sites in Alaska during the Vietnam era. His civilian career started as a certified welder/mechanic and certified electrician for electric utility power plants prior to his retirement. Retail hardware store management became his second career and the one he enjoyed the most. Retirement beckoned again, so he and his wife started traveling in their RV enjoying our great country. Some lasting friendships were made as they traveled. George is survived by his wife, Mary Weldon Music; son, David Evan Music and wife Melissa; daughters, Diane Michelle Tucker and husband Dirk, Hope Elizabeth Szudzik and husband Steve; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. George attended World Outreach Church faithfully for many years as long as his health would allow. His quiet faith bolstered him during his final years. And he always finished a conversation with anyone he met with “Have a Blessed Day.” A private family gathering/memorial will be held at a later date.
