Lytle Ray Barrett

Lytle Ray Barrett, age 84, passed away at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro on May 10, 2022. He was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County and a member of Lascassas Church of Christ. Ray spent many years as a successful business owner in Rutherford County, including Work & Play Trucks in Smyrna. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Lytle Robert Barrett and Sallie George Barrett; wife, Betty Lynn Barrett; daughter, Lisa Lynn Barrett Jenkins; son, David Ray Barrett; brother, Doris Barrett; sister, Faye Barrett Jones and brother-in-law, Billy Towe. He is survived by his sons, Phillip Ray Barrett (Gwen) and Robert Russell Barrett (Kristi); wife, Yvonne Barrett, brother, Don Ralph Barrett (Christie); sisters, Jo Ann Towe, and Brenda Jean Richardson (Kenneth); grandchildren, Heather Barrett Hargis (Trevor), Phillip Andrew Barrett, Logan Reid Barrett, Noah Ray Barrett (Ashtyn), and Elijah Gray Barrett; and great-grandchildren, Molly Jane Hargis, Mason Brown Hargis and Mattie Jolynn Hargis as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be 12:00 until time of chapel service at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 13, 2022 at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home with Chuck Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
